Here is a replacement icon I have decided to make for Steam to go along with my redesign page. In the .zip are two files, one to use for Mac OS X and even one for Windows as well.

For personal use only, this icon is forbidden for commercial use.

Amazing! but on my mac steam changes the icon back to default automatically when I open it :-) anyone know how to prevent this - is on 10.8.2

This is a caveat within Steam, unfortunately, I don't know a workaround for this.

One method you could try is using Panic's Candybar. It's free but unsupported. [link]

amazing! I want all my icons to be like the appstore/itunes 10 one. I am trying to do it myself but its quite hard. Would be awesome if you could do VLC and Mail app in the same style!!!!
